Wonderful, an AI startup has raised $550 million at $5 billion valuation

The Amsterdam-based company attracts fresh backing as demand grows for enterprise AI and automated business workflows.

Netherlands-based artificial intelligence startup Wonderful has raised approximately $550 million in a Series C funding round, valuing the company at $5 billion. The round was led by existing investor Insight Partners, with Salesforce joining as a new investor alongside returning backers including Index Ventures, IVP, Vine Ventures, 9Yards, and Bessemer Venture Partners.

The funding represents another major investment in the European AI sector. It comes as companies increasingly look to deploy AI across everyday business operations rather than limiting it to experimental projects.

Focus on enterprise AI.

Wonderful develops AI technology aimed at businesses, with its platform designed to help companies automate workflows and deploy AI-powered applications. The company has positioned its technology around the practical use of AI within organisations, including managing different AI agents and connecting them with existing business processes.

Businesses are moving beyond standalone generative AI tools and are increasingly exploring systems that can perform tasks, interact with company data and support operational decision-making.

Rapid expansion of the AI startup.

Wonderful has expanded quickly since its founding and now operates across more than 35 markets, according to reports. The company has about 650 employees and serves enterprise customers across different regions. Its rapid growth has also contributed to a sharp increase in its valuation. The latest $5 billion figure marks a substantial rise from its previous valuation of about $2 billion, highlighting investor interest in enterprise AI companies.

Wonderful said the new capital will be used primarily to strengthen its products and expand its workforce. The company is looking to develop its AI platform further as demand from businesses increases. The funding also gives the startup additional resources to expand internationally and build out its technology infrastructure.

Wonderful’s valuation reflects the financial expectations around this market, but it also shows the pressure on AI companies to translate technological capabilities into sustainable business growth.

As organisations continue experimenting with AI-powered automation, investors are increasingly backing companies that can integrate artificial intelligence into existing corporate systems. Whether these high valuations are sustained will largely depend on these businesses’ ability to convert rapid adoption into long-term revenue and productivity gains.
