The group is intensifying its presence in India’s most important gateway markets through an expanded mix of premium brands, rolling out aggressively in India’s tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
Radisson Hotel Group has signed 10 hotel deals in India in the second week of July. The group signed across seven Indian states, offering six Radisson brands: Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson, Radisson Individuals Premier, Park Inn & Suites by Radisson, and Radisson Individuals Retreats.
Tapping Pilgrimage and Temple-Town Markets
Some of the new properties include the group’s foraying into India’s major pilgrimage and temple-town circuits. This includes Radisson Hotel Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Mathura Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh, and Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Kadapa Airport in Andhra Pradesh.
Doubling Down on Bengaluru
The group is also strengthening its presence in Bengaluru, adding to its existing portfolio of seven operational properties and a pipeline of five more in the city. New signings there include Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Bengaluru, Park Inn by Radisson Electronic City, and Lavish Hotel Bengaluru under the Radisson Individuals Premier brand.
Resorts and Wildlife Destinations
Besides metro and pilgrimage destinations, the hotel brand has signed properties such as Radisson Blu Resort & Spa in Jawai, Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa in Vadodara, and Jungle Home Resort Tadoba in Maharashtra as part of Radisson Individuals Retreats.
A Deliberate Growth Strategy
Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director & COO for South Asia at Radisson Hotel Group, said the signings reflect a dual strategy of deepening its upscale brand presence in high-barrier gateway cities while using asset-light, franchise-led models to expand quickly into underserved smaller markets. “It’s this dual approach for us, depth in the metros, breadth in the emerging markets that continues to set our India growth apart,” he said.
Radisson currently operates or has under development more than 225 hotels across India.
