Transformers and Rectifiers receives a domestic purchase order with execution scheduled over 35 months.

Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited (TARIL) has received a fresh purchase order from Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) to manufacture transformers and related work, putting the company in focus ahead of the next trading session. The development was disclosed by TARIL through a regulatory filing on August 29, 2026.

The order has been classified as a “Large Order” under TARIL’s internal project classification. The company categorizes orders valued between ₹100 crore and ₹500 crore, excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST), under this segment. However, the exact value of the MEIL contract hasn’t been disclosed.

35-month execution period.

According to the company’s filing, the contract involves the manufacturing of transformers and associated work. The scheduled delivery period extends up to 35 months, with execution to be carried out according to the terms and conditions specified in the purchase order.

TARIL said a domestic entity awarded the order and forms part of its normal business activities. The company also stated that its promoters, promoter group and group companies have no interest in the entity awarding the contract. The order, therefore, does not fall under related-party transactions.

Order book remains a key factor.

The latest contract comes at a time when TARIL is carrying a sizeable order backlog. Its unexecuted order book stood at ₹6,630 crore at the end of Q1 FY27, compared with ₹5,005 crore at the end of FY26, according to company disclosures. Power transformers accounted for the largest share of the backlog.

The company has also secured other sizeable orders in recent months, including a contract from the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh. These orders reflect continuing demand for transformer equipment amid investment in India’s electricity transmission and power infrastructure.

TARIL shares closed at around ₹303.60 on August 28, according to market data. The stock has experienced considerable volatility during 2026, with its 52-week high substantially above its prevailing market price.

The new MEIL order adds to TARIL’s contracted workload but does not, by itself, indicate the company’s future financial performance. Investors will likely continue to track order execution, manufacturing capacity, margins and further contract announcements as the company works through its growing backlog.
