Booking a creative space in India, a photo studio, a training room, an event venue still typically starts with a Google search, scattered Instagram listings, and a string of phone calls to negotiate pricing and confirm availability. Delhi NCR-based startup Spare Space is trying to replace that fragmented process with a single, structured marketplace for discovering and booking creative hourly spaces.
A Founder Who’s Seen Both Sides
Prior to the commencement of operations, the Spare Space team spent almost a year learning about seamless communication between hosts and guests. Founder, Khayat Chakerverty ensured that the company had dual expertise on the subject matter: having acquired five years of experience as a creative professional in production environments, and another 5 years as an
Airbnb host managing rental profit margins and tenant expectations. This experience has been the cornerstone of creation of the platform designed to bring people together and ease making business between them.
What the Platform Offers
For guests, Spare Space integrates search, real-time booking and online payment options to facilitate event scheduling. Users may filter search results according to permissible events, available amenities, location or the price they are willing to pay.
For hosts, the platform has solved such major issues as low visibility and booking process management by offering flexible hourly rates, cancellation policies, automated payments and an earnings dashboard. Moreover, the platform now requires 100% upfront payment from guests.
Trust and Early Traction
The platform employs ID verification, behavior monitoring and review systems to ensure customer trust. It has already secured some high-profile enterprise customers, including Typsy Beauty founder Kairavi, and is expected to reach 140 live listings in Delhi by March 2026.
What’s Next
Spare Space has plans to strengthen its position in Delhi NCR within the next six months before expanding to Bengaluru and Mumbai to build out a broader creative infrastructure ecosystem covering equipment rentals and freelance services.
