Sky Gold and Diamonds enters MSCI India Domestic Small Cap Index

The inclusion places the Mumbai-based jewellery manufacturer among companies tracked by a major global index provider, reflecting its growing presence in India’s small-cap market.

Sky Gold and Diamonds Limited has now been included in the MSCI India Domestic Small Cap Index, marking a notable development for the listed jewellery manufacturer. The index tracks the performance of small-cap companies in India’s domestic equity market and uses free-float-adjusted market capitalization to determine its constituents.

The inclusion comes as Sky Gold continues to expand its manufacturing capabilities and business operations across the jewellery sector. The company is headquartered in Mumbai and focuses primarily on lightweight, design-led and studded jewellery for the organized retail market.

What does the Index actually mean?

Being added to an MSCI index can increase a company’s visibility among institutional investors and market participants who monitor index constituents. However, inclusion itself does not guarantee higher investment flows or share-price gains.

MSCI periodically reviews its indices based on factors including market capitalization, liquidity and investability. The changes can also influence portfolios and funds that use MSCI benchmarks as part of their investment strategies. The MSCI India Domestic Small Cap Index has undergone several changes during 2026. In its May 2026 review, MSCI announced 16 additions and 30 deletions to the India Domestic Small Cap Index, with the changes taking effect after the close of May 29.

Jewellery business continues to expand.

Sky Gold has been increasing its focus on manufacturing scale and product development. Company disclosures indicate that it operates more than 1,30,000 square feet of manufacturing space, supported by a design library containing more than 9,00,000 SKUs. It also has a network of over 150 designers.

The company has also been pursuing expansion beyond its traditional domestic operations. Recent developments have included the opening of a Dubai office and strategic activity involving its subsidiaries and jewellery businesses. The MSCI India Domestic Small Cap Index inclusion comes at a time when India’s listed jewellery sector is attracting increasing market attention. For Sky Gold, the change adds another layer of institutional market visibility as it continues to build its business in India’s competitive jewellery manufacturing industry.

Investors will nevertheless continue to assess the company on conventional measures, including revenue growth, profitability, cash flows, valuation, execution and broader trends affecting gold prices and consumer demand.
