Pride Hotels plans ₹1,000 crore IPO as expansion gathers pace

Hospitality chain targets December public issue as it expands across leisure, weddings, corporate events, and pilgrimage destinations.

Pride Hotels is preparing to enter the capital markets with a proposed initial public offering (IPO) of around ₹1,000 crore by December, while simultaneously accelerating its expansion across India’s hospitality sector. The company’s plans come as demand for hotel accommodation grows across leisure, business, and pilgrimage travel.

The hotel chain has opened nine properties over the past 12 months, including its recently launched hotel in Indore. With the latest addition, Pride Hotels now has 40 properties, comprising eight owned hotels and 32 managed properties. The company has also signed agreements for another 32 hotels. These properties are expected to become operational over the next 18 to 24 months, potentially taking the overall portfolio to about 72 hotels. The expansion reflects a mix of ownership and management-led growth, although the company has indicated that it intends to increase the proportion of owned properties within its portfolio.

Four key areas for expansion.

Pride Hotels’ growth strategy is centred on four broad segments. These include strengthening its presence in markets where it already operates, developing larger hotels suited to weddings and MICE – meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions, entering new leisure destinations and increasing its presence in pilgrimage centres. This approach comes as travel patterns in India continue to evolve. Improved road and air connectivity, rising incomes and changing preferences among younger travellers are supporting demand for leisure and experience-led travel.

Pilgrimage tourism is another area attracting attention from hotel operators, particularly as several religious destinations experience increasing visitor traffic and infrastructure development.

IPO to support the next phase.

Alongside the expansion programme, Pride Hotels is preparing for its proposed ₹1,000 crore IPO. The company’s chief executive, Satyen Jain, has indicated that the public issue is targeted for December, although the final timing and structure will depend on the regulatory and market process.

The proposed listing follows the company’s earlier regulatory progress. Pride Hotels received Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) approval in January 2026 for a ₹1,000 crore IPO. The approved structure included a fresh issue of up to ₹260 crore and an offer for sale of up to 3.92 crore shares by existing shareholders.

For Pride Hotels, the proposed IPO and planned additions to its hotel portfolio represent two parallel developments: raising capital through the equity market while expanding its operating footprint. The company’s ability to execute its planned openings and maintain sustainable occupancy and financial performance will be important as it moves towards the proposed public listing.
