Lucknow school hosts AI and cybersecurity bootcamp for over 300 students and teachers

The 3-day programme introduces classes 6 to 12 to generative AI, online safety, and the responsibilities that come with the growing use of digital tech.

More than 300 students and teachers from classes 6 to 12 participated in a 3-day Generative AI and Cybersecurity Coaching Bootcamp at Fatima Inter College in Mankapur, Lucknow. The programme was held under the Catholic Diocese of Lucknow and focused on helping participants understand emerging technologies alongside the risks associated with increasing digital dependence.

The initiative, organized by HT-DigiSkills and Madre Trinity, covered areas including generative AI, cybersecurity awareness, responsible digital behavior, and the ethical questions surrounding the use of AI. Rather than treating AI as simply a new technological skill, the sessions emphasized understanding how digital tools should be used and where caution is necessary.

Cybersecurity awareness becomes part of digital education.

As students increasingly interact with online platforms, applications and AI-powered services, basic cybersecurity awareness has become an important part of digital education. The Lucknowbootcamp sought to familiarise students and teachers with the broader digital environment while encouraging them to think about online responsibility.

The programme also highlighted the need to consider the consequences of using technology, rather than focusing solely on what digital tools can accomplish. The programme also addressed the ethical side of AI. Participants were encouraged to question not only what AI allows users to do, but also how and when to use such tools.

Teachers were also included in the training.

The programme also included teachers alongside students. Educators play an important role in helping young people understand changing digital tools and the risks that accompany them.

The initiative at Fatima Inter College therefore brought AI education and cybersecurity awareness into the same learning environment. Its emphasis was not limited to technical knowledge but extended to responsible and human-centred technology use.

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly accessible to younger users, these educational efforts highlight the growing need for digital literacy that combines technical understanding with critical thinking and online safety.
