Series A funding headed by Accel, Elevation Capital, and Nexus Venture Partners will support the extension of Plazza’s pharmacy network and inventory intelligence system.
Healthtech startup Plazza has raised $15 million in a Series A round co-led by Accel, Elevation Capital, and Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from existing backers All In Capital and Better Capital, as the company looks to expand its rapid medicine delivery network.
Tackling a fragmented pharmacy market
Founded in 2024 by Aman Priyadarshi, Plazza aims to fill a structural void in India’s pharmacy retail industry, worth over 30 billion US dollars, dominated by independent pharmacies that typically carry only 5,000 of the over 100,000 medicines available for purchase, leading patients to visit several pharmacies before they get all the medicine they need.
An AI-powered inventory model
Plazza pairs neighbourhood pharmacies with AI-based demand forecasting that recommends what each store should stock, allowing individual outlets to carry more than 40,000 stock-keeping units. The company says this pushes prescription fulfilment rates above 95 percent, compared with an industry average of 50 to 60 percent, and ensures deliveries are completed within 15 to 30 minutes.
Rapid growth since launch
According to Plazza, its gross merchandise value increased almost 27 times from June 2025 to March 2026 with returning customers ordering products 30 percent larger than first-time buyers.
What investors are betting on
Elevation Capital’s partner, Chirag Chadha, explained that the company was interested in Plazza’s AI-powered inventory management system and demand mapping at the neighborhood level, not only in the speed of delivery. In contrast, Pratik Agarwal, a partner at Accel, noted the startup’s uniqueness as its combination of a vast number of drugs in a pharmacy, effective local fulfillment, and availability of services at any time. Plazza has also claimed that the funding received will be used to strengthen its IT platform and expand its pharmacy network.
