Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has pushed for greater use of emerging technologies as the state works to make public services faster, more accessible and easier to monitor.
Andhra Pradesh is now expanding its use of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data-driven systems as part of a broader effort to simplify government services and improve administrative efficiency. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has repeatedly called for broader use of technology across departments, emphasizing making services easier for citizens to access and reducing delays in government processes. In May, he directed officials to examine wider applications of AI in citizen services and proposed an expert advisory council to guide its implementation.
The state’s approach isn’t limited to introducing new technology. The state is expanding existing digital infrastructure to connect government departments, integrate information, and support faster decision-making.
AI for citizen services.
One of the most visible parts of Andhra Pradesh’s digital governance strategy is ManaMitra, a WhatsApp-based platform through which citizens can access government services. As of July 2026, the platform had expanded to 1,126 services across 35 departments, according to an official release cited by India Today.
The state has also introduced AI into its public grievance redressal system, allowing complaints to be submitted through text, images and voice. Other initiatives include a State Data Lake and AI-based administrative tools intended to bring information from different departments into a more connected system.
Blockchain for land records.
Blockchain is being applied to another area where data accuracy and tamper resistance are particularly important: land records. The National Informatics Centre’s Andhra Pradesh unit describes Property Chain as a blockchain-based land record system designed to link the Survey, Revenue and Registration departments. The objective is to create a unified record, improve transparency, and reduce the possibility of unauthorised changes to land information.
In July 2026, the state also launched the MeeBhoomiBlockchain Portal for seven pilot mandals across seven districts, marking a further step towards blockchain-backed land administration. The push towards AI and blockchain reflects a larger shift in how governments are approaching digital public services. However, the effectiveness of these systems will ultimately depend on reliable infrastructure, accurate data, cybersecurity, and citizens’ ability to use digital platforms easily.
